The Reishit Sephardic Program

Reishit's new Sephardic Program features a unique curriculum dedicated specifically to Sephardic studies. Stimulating shiurim examine the development of halakha, mahshava and minhagim, and deepen both understanding and appreciation of the unique Sephardic heritage.

Sephardic ProgramThe Reishit Sephardic Program (RSP) goes well beyond the classroom, offering a Sephardic minyan three times a day and a full Israel Edot Hamizrah experience. Highlights include a Sefaradi Shabbaton, Selihot, Tefillot Yamim Noraim and meeting various Sefaradi personalities such as Hakhamim and different professionals. Additonally, Students are exposed to the best of all worlds, as they are integrated into the amazing Reishit environment.

Our program is directed and taught by Rav David Zeit , a respected educator and experienced administrator with years of experience in hinukh.

As Dean of Students at Hillel Yeshiva High School (2005-2008), Rav Zeit earned the admiration and trust of students and parents alike. Previously, he was the Director of the High School & Young Adult Program at Congregation Bnei Yitshak, and taught at Yeshiva of Flatbush High School. Rav Zeit has extensive experience in informal education as well, and has been the Associate Director of Camp ESH since 2003.

Rabbi Zeit develops a very special rapport with his students, hosting them for Shabbatot and Hagim. He meets with all Sephardic students regularly to discuss their studies and life issues. He is in constant contact with parents as well.

Sepharidc Program

RSP is designed to enrich the life of a Sephardic student so that when he returns to college, he will be able to take a role as a proud and active member of the Sephardic community.
